What does AI implementation cost in a Danish company? Here are the real price ranges for a workshop, a pilot, full rollout and operations — and the four things that move the number.
AI implementation in a Danish company typically costs DKK 25,000-50,000 for an initial workshop, DKK 75,000-200,000 for a 2-4 week pilot, and more than that for a full rollout, where the price depends on scope. Operations and maintenance start at DKK 1,500/month. Those are the ranges we at Indee work with in 2026, and they cover the large majority of engagements at companies with 10-500 employees. What matters isn't the number itself, but that the price is fixed in writing before the work starts — not an open-ended hourly bill that grows along the way.
What do the three stages cover?
Most Danish companies get started along the same route. Each stage is its own decision, and you can stop after any of them.

An AI pilot is a time-boxed prototype that tests one concrete use case on real data with real users. The point isn't to build the finished system — it's to find out whether the value is there, before you spend a rollout budget discovering that it isn't.
Why does the price vary so much?
Four things move the number more than anything else:
- The state of your data. If it sits in one system and is reasonably structured, this goes quickly. If it sits across four systems, a spreadsheet and a shared inbox, that's where the hours go.
- The number of integrations. One integration into your CRM is manageable. Five across ERP, document management and a 15-year-old line-of-business system is a different project.
- The accuracy bar. An internal assistant that drafts text for a human to approve is allowed to miss. A solution acting on its own in a customer-facing process has to be tested far harder — and that costs.

What does it cost to run AI afterwards?
This is the line most budgets forget. An AI solution isn't finished the day it goes live: models age, vendors change prices and APIs, and usage patterns shift. So we always plan for three ongoing costs:
- Model usage — what you pay the vendor per call. For most internal solutions it's a modest amount, but it should be measured from day one, not guessed at.
- Operations and monitoring — from DKK 1,500/month with Indee, cancellable. Covers monitoring, security patching and tested backups.
- Adjustment over time — after six months of real use you'll know things you didn't know at launch. Set something aside to act on them.
Should you build or buy?
If the job is one that thousands of other companies also have — meeting notes, translation, general writing — buy an off-the-shelf tool. It's cheaper than anything you could build, and someone else maintains it.
If you're building on your own data, your own processes or a line-of-business system nobody else has, there is no shelf to buy from.
